How do you make your baby not so attached to you?

My boyfriend and I are having trouble. I work graves and my baby only sleeps by nursing, so he's left being up all night with a fussy baby. He will take a binky, but only when he's exhausted. Any tips or tricks to make him not so attached to my boobs?

Your baby is one month old right? That sounds like completely normal behavior for a one month old. Has your boyfriend tried the 5 S's to calm and sooth him? Swaddling, sucking, swinging, side lying, and shushing?

I've not been here, but it seems like this might be one of those moments where patience might be the only option, just slowly weaning him off you when he's trying to sleep.

He's tried the S's. Pretty much everything. Our son is getting better at taking the pacifier, and just tonight I got him to sleep with "Baby Got Colic" white noise simulator and just binky. Gonna have daddy try it tomorrow night.

Unfortunately, it's pretty much official he won't sleep without me. Most of the time, during the day, if I put him down after he falls asleep, he wakes up. He's two months old today. It's just really frustrating and hard on us both.

I'm hoping he'll start sleeping better without me. I need this job to help out, also so I don't have to owe at the end of the year. Mostly, I like having time to get out of the house. Away from my little babies, as much as I love them.

Finally got a job. Jack in the Box. Not much, but it's something. I'm divorced but in a new, better relationship and he's my new son's father. I'm very happy to have him in my life (my ex is a free loader, currently living out of his car).
