The Things I Do For My Dog

My dog just had puppies or baby just a pup (she's a small dog--Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix). I told my hubby it would be this week so lets confine her to one spot, which he insisted she had a month to go. Men. Blah. LOL

Well, she kept nudging me and following me because she wanted to show me and she would not give up. She was determined to show me her baby/babies (Hubby said he saw only one and it was about 3-4 inches long). So, I finally gave in and crawled under that nasty porch (although it's clean) and through the mud to see her pup(s), even though I was petrified because of all the cobwebs and creepy crawlies underneath. I never thought I feared insects before but now I do some. Ewwwww....it was not a fun evening. :( I am NEVER doing that again (at least I hope I do not have to).

They say the things we do for our children!!!??? But it can apply to our animals too, can't it? :) Congrats on the new puppy! What will you do with her/him?

Hahaha! My dogs are my four-legged kids (but my two-legged ones are far more important).
I think there is only one. I had hubby crawl under there first, but that did not satisfy Saedee (the mother). Noooo, she wanted me. She's a stinker. I thought about Sasha if it's a girl and Solomon for a boy.

I want to but the hubby wants her to stay there--he thinks she is safer. I disagree since I can't get to her.

He said the pup is about 3-4 inches long and is so small with teeny legs. We have a mini Dachshund, which is the father. So, I suppose we now have a Pomcheenie? Haha! It's sounds so silly. We have a long-haired little sausage underneath the house now.

Oh, she will let me. She kept wanting to show me her puppy. She chose a spot with insulation, so at least she will be warm and dry...but still.

I will just have to cry...or beg. Haha (Sadly, that is how I got her in the first place. She was 3 weeks old and was being mistreated and wasn't receiving the proper nutrition. The lady was just feeding her whole milk--which is not suitable for puppies. And then the lady said she was just going to dump her off at the pound, which broke my heart. So, I cried. And, the hubby doesn't like it when I'm sad so he caved. LOL
I had to bottle feed her for two weeks and then slowly transitioned her into diluted wet food. Unfortunately, all her other siblings did not make it. They were adopted by my former co-workers. I've had experience with rescues before because we grew up taking in strays and unwanted animals from the humane society and vet offices).

I want to start an animal rescue and rehabilitation site someday. Maybe I should take some vet classes? Hmm...

I love all animals (though I am a bit petrified of bats)!
