Bed time techniques??

My Daughter Avery (10 months old) has started having trouble sleeping alone.. Typically she will sleep in her pack N' play in my bedroom because her room doesn't have A/C. Other wise I try to have her sleep in her crib on cool nights. Well just recently she wont sleep alone at all. If I even set her in her pack n play, she screams at the top of her lungs. Now she has only done this the past 2 nights so i am hoping tonight is different, the past 2 nights i wasn't able to put her down alone until about 1:30 am when she was in a deep sleep. My fiance blames it on me for having her sleep with me on nights he works late.. but it isn't the first time I have done that. She usually sleeps anywhere as long as she has something soft and a bottle, I am trying to start a new routine to get her to sleep alone. Today after lunch, she went down around 1:45pm I fed her , gave her a bath and gave her a warm bottle she slept for about an hour in her crib, than after dinner I let her play until about 8:45pm she looked as if she was getting sleepy so I bathed her with her bed time soap, put her in her crib with a warm bottle and read a book to her, she dozed but once her bottle was gone she got up and started playing.. it is 9:46pm now and she is getting a bit fussy and rubbing her eyes , Im gonna try this again in the crib. Wish me luck! & any suggestions will be helpful!

Well she has her pack n play, which is what she normally sleeps in when its hot, My 9:46pm bed time attempt was unsuccessful.. So i am waiting for her to get a little more tired, do you think getting her up earlier will help??I i waker her up around 6 or 7, give her a nap at about 11am than when she wakes up try and keep her up until bed time? how many naps does the average 10 month old get?

My daughter has overall been a great sleeper. The weeks were she was sick or teething, it would be a struggle to get her down. Do you use any type of white noise to help soothe her? That works well for us - we use ocean waves. It is ok to let her cry for a few minutes. My daughter typically will fall asleep on her own now. She may cry/fuss for about 5 minutes. After that, we can hear her moving around some, though shortly after she falls asleep.

For the amount of sleep she gets, she goes to bed between 7:30/8:00, wakes up between 4:30 an 5:30 to nurse, then sleeps until 7:00/7:30. At daycare, she usually takes two naps and sleeps about 2 - 2.5 hours total during the day.

Working on a consistent routine for bed time can also help. My daughter is also 10 months and loves books and being read to. Maybe try that also.

She was on a pretty good routine that was convenient for my SO and I, We used to have her down at 11pm for the times he works 3 to 11 she typically woke up when he came in. than she would wake up around 8 am or 9, than I would put her for a nap around 10 or 11 than again around 3 or 4. last night she finally went to bed alone around 11pm and she just went down for a nap at 10:40am Maybe she just isn't ready for an earlier bed time? How can I progressively get her to go down earlier??

What worked for us when I had to go back to work and had to get my daughter on an earlier sleep schedule, I kept a journal of what time she went to bed, when she woke up and when she went down for a nap and woke up for about a week. That gave me a good idea of how many hours of sleep she needed. Then, I would try to get her to bed about 10 minutes earlier each night and start naps a little earlier during the day. That worked for us. Within a week or so, we had her down an hour earlier!

Hi! My name is Eva, I am a first time mom, and a young mom! My daughters name is Avery Jayne, and I am happily engaged to her father Gary. Some of you may think I am "too young" that may be true but I am still an amazing mom to my daughter. :)
