Bed Time Wars, difficulty getting my almost 4 year old to go to bed with out being up all night.

My oldest is about to start preschool, my husband and I have been trying to get her into a schedule about bedtime. It was been a very long process, We get her into bed at 8:30 and then she stays up trying to find any reason to stay up and play. I really want her to be able to go to bed nicely so she will have good days at school rather than her being tired. Anyone have any suggestions to help us with the bedtime wars.

We put the kids to bed at 7pm. They are allowed to read as long as they want if they are quiet. Usually they fall asleep within 10 minutes to an hour . If they come out and play around then they lose the privilege of reading that night. It works pretty well in our house.
He has to stay in bed.. or daddy's bed. lol. We brush teeth, get bedtime kisses, read a book then snuggle down.
