Stressed out again!

Ugh. So, ASU financial aid is driving me insane. I've had to fill out form after form after form for these people. I filled out my FAFSA and was classified as an 'independent' and had to fill out a verification form for ASU. So I filled it out along with a tax form (because I didn't file taxes last year because I didn't have a job.) I got a job as of March this year and have had a job since then. Half of every pay check goes to my sons needs. I am independent. However, ASU is telling me that because I didn't claim my son LAST year, that I am still dependent!!!! So, unless they make an exception for me and accept me as an independent, then I'd have to come up with over $3,000 every semester to make up the rest of my tuition, which I don't have. So either they make an exception or I basically have to drop out because there's no way I have that kind of money. Great. I've applied for so many scholarships too and got no word back from any of them. I thought single mothers were supposed to get tons of help going back to school!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

How frustrating. The financial aid stuff is mind spinning, it really is. My daughter is stressing over it all and her grades etc. I hope it works out for you!
