Seriously?

So I got a fedex package from work and they are placing me on FMLA when I have told the HR that I don't want to. I am currently on short term disability. Can they really placed me on FMLA? I'm not filling out the forms. What do you think? Sorry been trying to de-stress but of course it keeps coming :(

    Short Term Disability and FMLA can run concurrently (at least in Oregon, check your state laws). When I had my first I got 6 weeks of short term disability which ran concurrently with FMLA giving me only 6 additional weeks of FMLA. However, in Washington, where I currently work, the state family leave act doesn't start to run until AFTER federal FMLA expires. Each state is different, there are many women's pregnancy legal advice/aide groups that you can call both federally and by state to get additional information.

      It sounds like Emilyhas more experience with this. Have you checked with any women's pregnancy legal groups, as Emily has suggested? I would start there and see what your options are and what help they can offer you, that's what they are there for.
