What was the scariest part of labor for you?

I think for my first it was the fear of having a c-section because they warned me I might have one towards the end of my pregnancy due to baby's size and them not knowing if I could deliver a big baby being a first-time mom.

After that just the fear of the unknown.

What about you?

I had the same fear with Andrew until I transferred to a hospital that was more vaginal-birth friendly than c-section friendly. The new OB looked at my chart, looked at me and said 'if you think you can do, we'll do it. Where there's a will, there's a way.' The birth wasn't without it's problems, but he came out vaginally despite fears of him being 'too big (7lb 9 oz).

With all of the events going on in the news, I thought that someone would steal him. Even though he and I had a security device we shared (and if someone were to take him, it would go off as soon as they crossed the doors), the fear of it settled in my mind. And when I discovered I had to have a C-Section due to a small pelvic bone, I was afraid they would accidentally cut my child during it. Silly, huh?

I couldn't care less if they were cutting into me, just don't cut my child. Lol
Oh, and when he was getting circumcised, I was a nervous wreck, too. I thought he would cut too much off or he wouldn't stop bleeding...and afterwards, they brought him to me. He calmed down as soon as they placed him in my arms, and then one of the mean nurses said, "He has to go get tests done now." And he started crying as soon as they took him from me. It broke my heart.

That's mean!!! Our hospital did the testing first.. Let me feed him, then did the circ, then brought him back.

It was. She was nasty to every mommy in there. She picked up my son roughly, and that's when I gave her a piece of my mind...in the most polite way possibly.
Yeah, I had him in my arms for less than a minute. I did not like that nurse. She displayed poor bedside manner. I pray I never get her again.

I wasn't polite to the mean nurses. With Andrew I talked to the floor nurse and requested a different nurse because I got tired of one of them being mean to me.

It was one of two good things I have from my ex, a big mouth when needed. :)
