Sleep Regression

Hi Moms,
Hope you are all doing well on this Friday. :)

Have any of you experienced what has been called the four month sleep regression? Freddie used to sleep through the night for 10-12 hours, now, for the past month, he has been getting up in the middle of the night, and is awake for hours. He did have about a week and a half in this month period where he slept through the night, but it has been sporadic.

I feel like I can't function, because of lack of sleep. I don't know if this is just a phase or what, but I surely hope it ends soon.

I love my little boy to pieces, but I find myself getting frustrated with the situation, because I don't have a solution to the problem, and I am used to being able to solve problems. Since becoming a mother, that has pretty much gone out the Once you think you have them figured out, they change the game on you.

Aww, I was SO sleep-deprived with my oldest. He has the most bizarre sleep schedules. I am not the kind of person who functions well on little sleep, so I was constantly a hormonal, hysterical mess. It's hard!! BUT... it will pass. It does get easier (otherwise I wouldn't have had another one, lol). Hang in there, you're going a great job. :)
Aww, I would totally encourage you to schedule a check up for yourself. It's really easy to get so caught up in caring for everyone else that you forget about yourself. My exhaustion and crappy mood felt excessive so I finally (a year later) went in and got checked out. Turns out I had a screwy thyroid, which exacerbated the sleep deprivation and was probably one of the main reasons for the postpartum depression. Not saying that this is what's going on for you, but please make sure you're taking care of yourself, too.
