Food Preferences Begin Before Birth
Research shows that a developing unborn baby, 21 weeks gestation, can taste what the mother consumes. I ate healthy during my pregnancy (it was also part of my everyday lifestyle, pre-pregnancy). I will admit, I occasionally, indulged in a candy bar or brownie (mostly due to gestational diabetes), but for the most part it was chicken, vegetables, cheese, fruit, milk, juice, and water. Water may not have flavor, but I enjoy it and it helps keep me hydrated--another important factor in pregnancy.
Upon learning this, I made sure I consumed plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, and some grilled chicken.
