How to deal with back talk and sassy behavior

"I don't want to!"

"That's stupid!"

"You never make BROTHER take out the trash."

"This is so dumb, why should I make my bed?"

As sweet as your child is they will at some point back talk and have a sassy attitude. It can be so annoying and make you want to rip your hair out. So mommas, what are your best tips and tricks for dealing with sass and backtalking?

Right now, we do time out or take a privilege away, like her "precious" television. We then explain why she is being punished and how we dislike that sort of attitude and the talking back. I agree, the sassing drives me bananas.
I got a bar of soap in my mouth though but won't resort to that. I got back handed once.
My hubby said he got a switch or lectured...he'd rather have the switch. Ouch! Lol

When she doesn't get her way, she stomps off and pouts so we just let her pout. She comes back minutes later, apologizes, and everything is okay again.
