Have you ever had a baby in NICU?

I have never had a baby in NICU, have you? What was that like? I can only imagine how stressful and scary it would be.

That's amazing he stayed less than a month. Glad he did so well!

My daughter was born at 34 weeks and was 4 lbs 11oz and she had to stay in the NICU for 6 days. It was hard for me because as a mother (especially a first time mother), you envision being discharged with your baby and I wasn't. Fortunately I had the option of seeing and being with my baby at anytime but the Staff in the NICU was so good to her that I didn't have to. The down side: if you do anything while visiting your baby such as go outside, touch your cellphone, or touch any other surface, you have to scrub your hands clean (I had severe dry hands when Mia was finally discharged).

I bet it would be taxing leaving before your baby. Glad she's done so well. I can only imagine how much you had to wash your hands.

Wow, three months is a long time. I know my mil had my husband and his brother really early but I don't know how long they each had to remain in the hospital. They were 2.2 lbs and 4 lbs so I am sure it was a while back in the 60's.

I love those stories where the babies prove the doctors wrong!

Breanikas mother has another baby that was born at 27 weeks and we spent a lot of time with her. She had tubes in her armpits to drain fluid from her lungs and all sorts of the other tubes and wires. I remember her looking like a little wrinkley monkey because her body still had all the little hairs on it. Their mother spent less time with her than we did. I'm glad her dad has her.

I'm sorry Wyatt has such a rough start coming into the world, Kristin, but am so happy to hear he is doing well and is seizure free!
