Not sleeping anymore
My son used to sleep with no problem through the night. Now, almost every hour he's waking up. Tossing and turning...he's 5.5 months old and teething a little, but would that be the cause? Would Tylenol help? Any suggestions would be appreciated :)
That could be the cause of it. Plus sometimes babies change their sleeping patterns, which is very frustrating. lol I know my son changed his sleeping patterns and habits so many times over the first year it about drove me crazy.
It is pretty normal for sleeping habits to change for the worst around this time. A lot of developmental changes are going on. Have you tried to feed him more breastmilk or formula? I only give Tylenol for a fever, it is a medication with risks so I don't want to give it unless there is a medical reason.
Teething a little? May I ask what you mean by that? Monroe has been "showing teething signs" very minimally for months.. but has no teeth yet.. How long has this been going on, his waking? Have you heard of wonder weeks? It's where he is going through a growth spurt! Is he eating more too? I would try not to rely on Tylenol until you really need it.
Thanks ladies! He's 6 months today and still waking through the night. Meg, I guess I should have said it differently. He is showing teething signs rather than teething a little :) We have our 6 month appointment tomorrow so I'll see what the doctor says. Can't believe that he's already 6 months!
My son did that when he was going through a growth spurt and teething. His teeth came through at six months old but each baby is different. I use teething tablets made from natural products instead of Tylonel. And, they can alter their sleeping patterns, unfortunately. It drives me bananas. Lol
We've purchased an amber teething necklace and that has been helping, too.
