Hearing That Heartbeat For the First Time...
I was eight weeks and 2 days when I first heard my son's heartbeat. I was elated and cried. It was the most beautiful sound I had ever heard--the most beautiful symphony ever composed. I wanted to hear it over and over again. Upon each time listening to it, it was as though I were hearing it for the first time. It was still beautiful every time.
When the ultrasound tech told me that heartbeats of unborn children can now be heard at six weeks, I was amazed. It's incredible what technology is capable of as it evolves.
But, a baby's heart begins to form before we can even hear it. It starts formation at 5 weeks gestation.
How did you feel the first time you heard your child's/children's heartbeat?
Isn't it the most incredible song ever heard?
To be honest.. mostly SHOCK! I loved it, but it really hadn't sunk in that I was HAVING A BABY.. haha!
The 3-D when I was seven months a long looked more like a human baby instead of a piece of candy. I hope that didn't sound bad.
