Tips for quieting crying baby in the car

I would often sit in the back seat with my baby and while we were both still buckled I would nurse baby. It was awkward and uncomfortable but it helped on long trips. Otherwise we would stop so I could nurse the baby, change a diaper or sufficiently burp baby.

Playing music.

Singing.

What are your tips for quieting a crying baby in the car?

Just talking/singing or shushing noise from me helps to soothe her. Also making sure she's not hungry and a dry diaper and time the car travel right before nap time.

Not always possible when you are traveling 32 hours though.

My son plays with light or soft toys and likes music. If my step-daughter is with us, she usually does things to make him laugh, such as funny noises, singing, and dancing.

Siblings are wonderful helpers too, forgot about them!

The farthest we go is 3 hours so I always made sure he was fed right before we left

When we go on longer trips and Tim is driving I'll sit in the back with the little one's and entertain them while letting one of the older kids usually Jordan sit in the front. When I drive Emily will sit in the front and Tim will sit in the back and help entertain them.
