Did you have any help in those first few months after baby was born?

I did not. With my first my mom came with my youngest sister who was 13-14 at the time a few weeks after I gave birth. They stayed for a couple of weeks. Other than that my help was limited to the first 1-4 weeks after birth. After that I was on my own. And due to the fact that my family was 1600 miles away that's how it was for all of my babies. It was hard at times. There were times when I wanted the help but felt I didn't have anyone to call on. That's when hubby came in and took over once he got home from work. He was always involved with the children when he was home but it took him until our third child to really start pitching in with the household chores etc. So he was my only help. I think in some ways it was good for our marriage as we were and still are dependent on each other, rather than us depending on someone else. I think our experience brought us closer together as a couple.

Part of the reason I moved back here was so I'd have family around once I have my first baby. I'm an only child and I'm gonna need a LOT of advice.
