pump from wic?

I tried breastfeeding and it's not working. Every now and then it'll work but my baby is on formula. I'm planning on formula feeding and pumping. I am in so much pain and my breast are swollen so I have a manual pump from the hospital and it sucks. Last night I pumped 1 ounce and hopefully today wic will let me rent a pump today. My appointment is Friday. Wish me luck. I just got a feeling their not going to let me just pick one up but I'll see.

If you have medical insurance a lot of them are legally obligated cover breast pumps now. Sometimes you have to have a prescription written and they won't just offer but if you ask then they may be able to help.

Some insurance plans are grandfathered in and don't have to but the ones that are not it is actually law that they have to be covered by insurance.

There are actually a lot if pregnancy and breast feeding stuff that insurance covers. One of the few good things about ObamaCare.

I had got help in the hospital while breastfeeding but I rather pump. My mother in law said she'll ask her daughter if she still has her electric pump. I am planning on buying one soon.

I would try talking to a lactation consultant. Sounds like you are engorged. Eat garlic (it's antiviral and antibacterial) and massage your breast in a hot shower or it can turn into mastitis, which sucks. Ask WIC if they know of a lactation that can come to the house. WIC offered me a pump.
can I ask what the problem with breastfeeding was? Maybe I can offer advice to help you try again if you want.
