Did you know....

In China, a baby is born with a birth defect every 30 minutes. Birth defects in that country have increased nearly 40% since 2001. Source: Hu, Yinan. “Baby Born with Birth Defects Every 30 Seconds.” China Daily. October 30, 2007. Accessed: June 14, 2011.

I think this is very high and have to wonder the cause? I did a quick google search but in the first two pages not much came up. Any clues as to why?

There are speculations about the air pollution. I was thinking the drinking water. A few articles stated that air pollution was the cause for the rise in birth defects. That is awful.
