Precocious Puberty

My daughter was diagnosed with precocious puberty in 2010. She was only 6 years old. She started to develop breast and hair at 6! She was taken to a specialist at the Childrens Hospital in Philadelphia. They ran a bunch of test, obgyn came in and did MRIs, ultrasounds and Cat scans. It was terrifying, but they wanted to make sure she wasnt getting her period at age 6! They said I had two options..#1 have an implant put in her arm to stop the age progression. This would eventually stunt her growth and she would be like a midget with huge breast and adnormalities or #2 just do it natural and put her on all organic foods. Well we stuck with #2. We did organic milk, brown eggs, non hormonial chickens and she ended up not getting her period until 9 years old. Has anyone else had this dx for their child?

Yes. It can become very expensive but there are so many stores now that carry these items because organic is becoming popular. We buy our organic milk at Walmart. OUr local grocery store has a HUGE organic section..Katy Perry even makes a popped chip which is to die for and its healthy!

I have heard of this happening but it has not happened to us. Thankfully our girls have been in their teens when they got their periods, but both hubby and I were rather late bloomers in that regard and I hoped and prayed they would be too.

Glad you were able to prevent her from getting her period at 6.
