So stupid!

So after my Dr appointment today me and my mom went grocery shopping in a town we have never shopped in before. I spent over $300 and the cashier looks at me and asked me if I needed bags. I was like why would I not need bags. I had two carts full of groceries. Apparently this town has a bag ban and they charge you 5 cents for every bag that you use. So I took my stuff home without bags. I don't even want to think of how much that would have cost me...not to mention the principle of the thing...SO stupid!

It was at winco. I don't think they have Aldi here. It's just crazy. We had some if our reusabe bags but not enough for all of it. And at winco you bag your own stuff and I told the guy that if they have a ba ban then they shouldn't have bags just sitting there for you to use.

We took the kids to McDonalds and they charge us 5 cents for the happy meal boxes!

I know! I'm glad I told the pharmacy I would just put my prescription in my purse because they would have charged me for that too. Thank you oregon!

That is crazy! They should at least have signs on the doors so tourists know. I reuse plastic bags from the rocery store.

That is crazy! What if someone didn't have a vehicle and needed to carry them? As if they don't charge you enough for the groceries. In Cali and here, they tax you to eat it a restaurant.

Thankfully in Oregon we don't have sales tax on anything. I think it is crazy! I won't be going back there. Besides their prices are noticeably higher there then the same store that is about a half hour away.

Good grief. I like Oregon, minus the snow. We usually go to Kentucky, which is 5 miles from our house to grocery shop because there is no sales tax on food. There should not be to begin with.

We don't get too much snow here and it only lasts a few days. But I agree that tax on anything is just silly but especially on food.
