question about putting a baby to sleep

does anyone know how do nurse's who work at the newborn care do it to put to sleep so many babies??? Do they let them cry it out because when my son was born he was so comfy in the plastic tray they put newborns in .....wondering any thoughts

    Sometimes it is as simple as skin to skin. And other times I rock her. It depends because my daughter has been having gas problems so which ever is best for her at that time! I have also started to give her her baths later in the night and when I bundle her up after she usually falls asleep... But I have to say the most affective with me is skin to skin, reclined back a bit with soft pats to the back

      No, I did it, too. As soon as he was fed and comfortable, he fell fast asleep. Of course, now, he likes to fight it now and then. Lol

      I let mine fall asleep on his own because it is easier for us and him since he fights sleep. It will just wear me down if I struggle with him.
