Letting off steam
When you feel overwhelmed or stressed out how do you release the stress? Do you exercise, talk to a friend or punch a pillow?
How have you taught your child to deal with stress? Do you think they do pretty well with it?
When my daughter gets really grouchy or stressed out, I tell her to lay down. Resting always helps and that's what I do. She had a little princess chase lounge in the living room and I tell her to get her blanket and her favorite stuffed animals and lay down for a while. I call it quiet time. I'll turn on some music or some cartoons and we'll just be quiet for a while.
I tend to vent to a friend or exercise. I have noticed my daughter does the same things! I'm okay with that, I think those are good ways to get it out of your system.
