OB check up :)
Had our check up today, baby JJ is measuring and sounding good, so still on 2 week appts. Which means my next appt will be at "full term" 37 weeks!!
Aww great news :)
My birth plan is "Get the baby out" hahahaha, that's what I went in with mentally for the first and it's my plan for #2... I am hoping to start naturally this time and not have to be induced, he's not measuring as big (only a week ahead) so I might be able to wait the full 2 weeks if he doesn't come by his due date. Olivia was such a big girl it was either induce at 41w or schedule Csection at 42w... so we went with induction and she barely fit as it was. I think going in open minded and without a specific "I want this this and this" helped me accept that I needed the epidural to get through the 3 days of induction + labor, etc. Ideally I didn't want the epidural, but as it turns out, it had worn off by the time I was pushing anyways, so I got the full joy of that experience... then they gave me another bolus of meds for the sewing up part (thank goodness!) Anyways, like I said, just really hoping to get a natural start and not have the induction experience again...
Glad you had a great check up! Did they mention anything about being dilated at all?
No physical checks til next time, which is fine with me, I have a tilted cervix and it's always hard for them to reach it... read: painful for me.
I ordered a labor gown (after talking to my SIL who just had her baby and loved hers)... found it on sale and am hoping it will motivate me to get my hospital bag packed this weekend :)
We both got the Gownie at babybeminematernity.com, she said the docs and nurses really liked it because it was less bulky than the usual "double gown" method they use at the hospital, it has snaps up the back for good coverage AND easy access for epidurals. The front snaps down so kangaroo care and nursing are super easy in it as well. It also (apparently) looks more tailored, so you can at least feel like you look a little pretty through the whole process :) I got a cute blue with white polka dot one. I got one on clearance, they are intended to be take and toss, but my SIL said she didn't get much blood on hers so she took it home and washed it and put it in the box for "next time". But if they do get lots of goobers on them, it was only $20 so I won't feel too bad about tossing it.
It was nice that she had her baby first and could tell me if it was worth it! I brought it up with her because it was annoying with my first to have the double gown, plus all those IV's and an epidural and monitor, etc etc in the way... So she let me know it's worth it for on sale, some of the full price ones are like $40, and I don't see that being worth it... but for $20... why not
