Do we talk down to gifted children?

Gifted children often have an expansive vocabulary. They may even prefer the company of adults tot heir peers because of the conversational skills of adults.

But do we talk down to gifted children?

Think about the last time you heard a first grader use a really big word. It was cute, right? Did you make a big deal out of how cute it was and talk to them like they were a first grader?

It's just something to think about. Any mommas here with gifted kids that can relate to how their conversation skills are different?
