Do you still have a desktop computer?

Our desktop computer is over six years old and it has been having issues for nearly a year, if not longer. It will work for a few days and then stop working. We give it a break and then it will start up again, only to do all that over again. I am not sure if just replacing the hard drive would fix the issue or if we move on in life away from having a desktop. We cannot replace it right now but in the future we will want to because we have too many children requiring online school work for us to get along with just my laptop (which is always in use by my husband or I) and a Kindle.

So do you still have a desktop computer?

Our desktop is our main computer. Our laptop is literally falling apart. We have resorted to taping the screen to the keyboard. Lol

Oh we have an old laptop that is falling a part too. Our second daughter keeps doing things to it to keep it alive...like not moving it! lol!

We have one. But we never use it. My mom still has one of hers that she redid thehard drive and all it has on it is games for the grandkids.

That's what I have thought about doing for ours, buying a new hard drive. Was it a good fix for your mom's? Our screen and keyboard and mouse are all in good condition and the disk drive is brand new because we replaced it so the hard drive seems to be the logical thing to replace. I'm just not into computer repair and don't want to waste money unnecessarily, you know?

Yeah. Have one of your kids do it for a homeschool class.:) She crashed the computer herself, then took everything off besides what it needed to run.

I think B, who is the one keeping our old Dell laptop ticking, could probably do it after all she's told me she's done to that laptop!

The only thing our desktop is good for is when we all sit down to watch a movie. It has a larger screen. But laptops and tablets allow mobility, which we like at our house.

We have talked about an iPad. It would work for hubby and the children but I wouldn't be able to use it....I cannot type on tablets. I need a REAL keyboard! Call me old school, I'm not ashamed! lol!

I know, but they seem so small that I am hesitant!
