Do you stick up for yourself?

Have you ever had a situation where someone blew up at you but you had done nothing wrong except ask for a little help and the person blew up at you? What did you do? My weekend started with this kind of situation and frankly, I stuck up for myself and think I surprised the person (not a family member or even a close friend). I am generally a quiet person, who minds my own business and may come off like a push over or like timid person. While I admit that I have an aversion to conflict, I am NOT a push over.

Do you stick up for yourself or let it go? Depending on the situation and what is warranted, I have done either or.

I had with a family member.. I asked my mother to stay with my oldest son for a week or so because I had complications with my 2nd pregnancy and my sister try to say I was abandoning my child to have another but that was the END OF HER BIG MONTH AND COMMENT.. 2 days later I took the risk and drove 3 hrs to my mother's house and put her in her place..

Well, in my opinion this was worth it because this person hasn't said anything to me since we had our conversation...tomorrow is a new day though. I just think they needed to know they could not treat me like they treat others around us.

Yes, I stuck up for myself. I don't regret it. I am usually quiet and avoid conflict but in this case I felt injustice and spoke up.
