Mental Preparation?

So ladies.. lately, it's hard to wrap my ahead around the changes that are to come.. even body wise.. but I know they will gradually happen. What is harder to see what life will be like when we bring this lil bundle home.. I know we will figure it out the best we can and life will continue.. but is there anything you wish you would have known to help you mentally prepare? Just like a lil heads up? I know the sleep.. it goes away. I know the hormones.. they stay. But what else? Could be ANYTHING.. that you wish you could have prepared, even mentally, just a lil more for? :)

As much as I love being a mom (most days, ha!), I wasn't prepared for how mentally, physically (especially so if you are breastfeeding) and emotionally taxing parenting is. I also wish someone would have told me how many times I'd have to forgive myself (for stupid mistakes like yelling when I should have been kind) and my children (they can do and say mean things like we can). This isn't so applicable, obviously, to babyhood but just something I thought of.

Awww....Mara, that would be truly humbling. But we've done that. We've jumped on children when someone is tattling on another only to find out the offense wasn't what we thought etc. And we do feel like complete heels. :(

Yes, there is always a new normal amidst every thing and guess what? Usually that new normal is better than the old, just with new challenges and experiences to face.
