Saturday Mornings

Saturdays are my "YES TOMORROW I GET TO BE LAZY" days. But I don't have to much to do this Saturday. So Bentley, and I are just going to relax this morning. Since I don't have to much to do today I didn't need him to really focus on breakfast, he could take his time eating, and it would be alright. I decided instead of putting him in his high chair, and making him eat all at once I would put the tray with his breakfast down where he can reach, and let him eat in between playing. Do you guys ever let your kids graze instead of eating all at once? Do they eat better in our out of a chair?

I let my kids do this depending on what the food is. And honestly it doesn't matter if they are at the table or up running around while they are eating they eat about the same. But almost always we eat dinner at the kitchen table as a family.

We always do family dinner to, the big kids get mad because they claim they are starving but its the only time we spend as a whole.

We don't have chairs for our kitchen table because out kitchen is too small and we use our table as a place for dishes to sit to dry. We use tv trays in the living room or we set up the card table and pull the furnature around it. Often times I will put the high chair on the lowest setting and sit on the floor with my plate on the end table with Ali's and I will take bites of my food as I feed Ali and Sami will be sitting on the floor next to us with her tray. The hubby doesn't like to sit to eat so he will often stand at the counter and eat.

Sami has a small tray that she can sit on the floor with and eat. We have her sit at her tray to eat when we are eating something messy or if I just want her to sit and eat. If i don't care if she grazes I will put something on a plate and leave it on the counter for her to take bites of. We had pancakes for breakfast this morning. I put the maple syrup in the mix instead of putting it on top so she can just eat them as they are which makes it so we can graze on them. Sami eats like I do most of the time. I am a grazer so she is a grazer.

Ali eats like her dad most of the time. She likes to eat all at once most of the time. If she grazes she seems to eat all day long because she doesn't get full.

That maple syrup in them instead is a good idea!

I buy a box of a complete pancake mix and add brown sugar, vanilla, and maple syrup. I end up having to add more pancake mix after I get it mixed up but that is fine. It makes them sweet. Also sometimes I will make country gravy to put on them and do pancakes and gravy instead of biscuits and gravy.
