Mom's of picky eaters

Any tips from other mom's out there who have a picky eater? I cannot hide the food i want her to eat in something she likes because she can find it then won't eat the food she likes til she finally believes I didn't hide something again. She is 5 but won't eat vegetables, or meat half the time. Any ideas?

My nine year old gets like that sometimes. I just give her a little of the vegetable or meat, she has to eat at least one bite or there will be no more of what she does like to eat and absolutely no snacks until she does. When I cook foods I know they don't like, they get a little of what they don't like and more of what they do like. Nothing else to eat until they at least take one bite of the food. I feel kind of mean sometimes, but by doing it this way, they are still eating and getting enough, but are being taught to eat what's for dinner, too.

If you try to mix it in with other foods, that sometimes works too. I've made lasagna and pureed spinach and mixed it with ricotta cheese. You can put greens in omelets or scrambled eggs.

That might be a good way to get everyone in the family to eat more green veggies

I know that dipping things helps sometimes. Also letting them help you pick what to try and then letting them help you get it ready or cook it. That is the only way I can get my 5 year old step son to try anything like that.
