The Case of the Missing Shoes

My daughter usually places her shoes in her bedroom. Well, she didn't this time. So, we spent about fifteen minutes this morning hunting for her sneakers. I searched all the possible places they could have been but no shoes. We tore apart her bed, closet, bedroom, toy box, the laundry basket (twice), looked in the washer and dryer (because they have been there before), searched outside, and some other rooms. I finally said a prayer, walked into the reading area and, low and behold, there were her sneakers with a pair of dirty socks...in a darkened corner, of course. LOL!!

I kept encouraging her to help me but all she did was fold herself in half and pretend to be searching for her shoes under her bed. She could not remember where she put them. So, we decided she is to place her sneakers in a certain spot in her room when she gets home from school. She is also missing another sneaker (I am guessing it is at her grandmother's because only one was returned) and a flip-flop. I have no clue where the flip-flop is (we tore apart her room looking for it). She says the shoes tiptoe away by themselves. I suppose it runs away with some of the laundry.

Shoes, boots, footwear of any kind, socks and mittens are my most frustrating articles of "clothing" to keep track of!

Socks, too, and, oddly enough, underwear.

I think my daughter and hubby have a bad habit of just chucking anything, anywhere. I find a lot of socks under the bed or behind the couch. Lol

She cracks me up. I found a pair of socks one time in the laundry room closet behind all of the cleaning products.
I was in a panic because I thought she was going to be late for the bus, and I was running about like a crazy person trying to locate them. Praise God for directing me. Lol

Her excuses for stuff are hilarious sometimes.
