Safety in schools

do you think all schools should have a lock on their main door to get in school? Ours doesn't and I could just walk right in without anyone knowing. Pretty upset about this but superintendent says it's been that way for years! What's your opinion

all schools I have been in are locked. My daughters school you walk right in and the main office is way down the hallway. She says there doors are locked and the superintendent says they have protocol (which is probably a gun which you can carry here) but I still just have a bad feeling about it. Middle school is a crucial age and you just never know. Here in Ga guns are legal so you can get them anywhere. Kids have more access and it's just not safe

I know the schools I grew up in were always open at the main door, all other doors were locked from the outside but we could get out them. But we are talking 39 years ago that I was in Primary/Kindergarten! I do think they should be locked once students have arrived and classes have started.

The world is just so different now and very scary. Maybe I am just too over protective but I went mama mode on the superintendant
