Stop me, please!! Eating at night...

Ladies, need your trics and secrets! What do you do to stop eating in the evening? I know it's a terrible habit to eat at the night but I cant =, really cant stop doing this. As I'm working till 10-11 p.m and sometime get home about midnight, I'm hungry like a bear...

But then I'm going to bed - and hi, extra weight))

What would you recommend to me?)

My husband is like that and always has been. No wonder he stays thin.

Why do you want to stop eating at night? Your body needs nutrients! I think it was found that eating late was not actually associated to weight gain (correct me if I'm wrong!) so I wouldn't worry if this is your concern. Plus if you eat dairy near bedtime, you are more likely to have vivid dreams!

Hi Mariya, Sometimes we eat to push away difficult feelings we may be having. If this is the case with you, then it would be good to just be with the feelings, or to see if anything is on your mind. I used to to that sometimes, but I learned that the feelings aren't so bad if we just confront them for the little illusions they are. Not sure if this is your situation, but it used to be mine.

Hi Elena, Believe me, you are not alone. What do you think might help? Check inside yourself. Would it help to call someone? Would it help to be in touch with the nervous feelings. I used to eat when I was nervous but I found that embracing the nervousness sometimes made me not hungry. and if you eat, don't trash yourself. Please let me know if I can help in any way. i am here for you.

          Hi Elena,

Hi Elena, You're welcome. Sometimes facing our problems square on is exactly what we need, as well. Sometimes the eating is an avoidance of actually doing that. I'm not saying that that's your case. But for myself I find I need to find that balance of knowing that I am accepting what is so for me, and not running away from the feelings, but also not obsessing about it or feeling sorry for myself. I've struggled with that in the past. but I find that being present in the moment really helps. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
