I get this, I really do, BUT...

I get this, I really do, I have taught our children from a young age to respect other people's property. But if he is a first time offender and was not harming anyone or anything, besides putting himself in danger...he could have been doing a whole lot worse, right? The photos are gorgeous and instead of punishing this teen, I would be giving him community service using his talent for the greater good or something. Am I wrong to think this way? I don't know the whole story or his record or him or anything but I feel empathy for him for some reason.

What would you do if you were his judge?
