Did the hospital overwhelm you?

Mamas.. after labor and delivery and spending time in the hospital waiting to go home.. did you find your time there overwhelmed you? Sometimes I did, looking back, it was such a stinkin whirlwind - wish I could have soaked up more of those fleeting moments.. care in point.. someone is constantly checking on you, the baby, both, people are wanting to stop and visit, you want to shower and try to feel like yourself again, going to the bathroom is hard, you need to eat, you want to sleep, you have this tiny person you are now responsible for, so many questions are asked, some decisions need to be made.. such a crazy time! Our hospital stay overall was lovely, but not restful :) What was yours like?

My last one was actually pretty restful. Since I birthed in the water, I didn't feel all icky and gross so I didn't even take a shower at the hospital. The night nurse left us alone after 10. My blood pressure spiked when hubby and the kids went home, so they had me on that monitor that just didn't work lol everytime i wiggled it came undone. I got a few extra meals out of it though. :D
The biggest frustration was they told us we could leave as long as all was well... all was well and we had to wait for the 24 hour blood draw... So yeah.. that was boring. We were sitting there..waiting for the 24 hour blood draw for Grace and were gone as soon as the results came in.
