Obese Mother Says She Is Too Poor To Eat Healthily

What do you think of this story?

This mother claims that she can't afford healthy food or a gym membership so she can't lose weight. She wants more money from the government to help her to lose weight.

I agree that sometimes unhealthy food can be easier and cheaper that that isn't always the case. Exercise is free, go for a walk, go for a jog, stretch, etc. I exercise for free with zero equipment and no gym membership.

Oh this is just so wrong. Eating healthy is not more expensive, if you make the right choices. One thing that I have found is that if I buy fruits and vegetables that I have to prepare myself instead of ones that are already sliced or chopped and I pick things that are in season, it is not any more expensive than unhealthy options. You can make stews and things like rice and beans that are healthy and filling for not a lot of money.
When I lost weight a few years ago, I did it mostly by walking. And I walked back and forth in my bedroom everyday for about an hour a day. When it got to be too easy I started reading out loud while I walked or singing at the top of my lungs and I lost 70 lbs in not a lot of time between that and cutting out all junk food.
