Baby it's cold Outside

Well... I moved the playpen upstairs because Grace will need it our room if it gets below 40 again at night before we get a space heater or fix the infrared we have. Her room doesn't have a furnace vent, she slept in the bassinet this weekend and didn't sleep well because she's too big for it.
Today we are going to the hardware store (YAY, hardware store with two toddlers and a baby...note the sarcasm) to get plastic to put on the windows to help keep some cold out.

I know! She said she'd tell her husband we need them because the babies are getting cold lol. Maybe I'll get lucky and he'll bring them by when he's out on a delivery. :D

I never thought about plastic in the windows when it gets cold...we have a pretty drafty house...I may steal you idea :-)

My mom always did it. It's better if you get the stuff that staples on the outside, then you don't have to worry about keeping kids and animals away. But I've always used the stuff that goes on the inside. 3M Makes the best, Walmart hardware section or any hardware store. :)

We have to get some new weather stripping for our doors. I keep forgetting to mention it to hubby.

It has been getting pretty cold here too. Last year we had to get a new furnace for the house, it was very expensive but we couldn't go without it. I hope the plastic helps, we use it for our windows in the winter too.

We want to switch from a gas furnace to an electric. The gas gives us so many problems.

We have gas, but that is because during storms here we lose electricity so that would be really bad. We get 40 below during the winter at night sometimes.
