Thinking about parenting before the kids come.
I think that we all have things that we say we will never do as a parent, but did you think about it beyond that? Did you already have a set parenting style in mind before you had kids? I have always thought that parenting should be adjusted to each child. It should be fair, but geared toward their personality and how they learn. I remember growing up and realizing that the correction technique that worked on my siblings just did not work on me and vise versa. I always planned to keep that in mind while raising my kids and hope that as they get older and need more guidance that I will stick to that theory.
