beginning homeschooling

My son is 5 years old. He is very active and energetic. We are starting to homeschool him! We are enrolled in a private school which has a homeschool option and he will be beginning kindergarten as soon as we get his curriculum! I have never done this before but I am excited to be beginning this adventure with him!

If anyone has any tried and true advice to give a newbie I would gladly receive it with open ears and gratitude!

It's fun! :D You can go at your own pace (at least with us you can, but we aren't getting curriculum from a school). Start slow and help get his energy out before you try getting him to sit down. I get about half an hour out with my 4 year old. But if you are on a time crunch, you could do half an hour every two or three hours throughout the day. This will get you both assimilated to it.
Make sure you have color sheets for little sister, too. It will keep her hands and mind busy while you help your son.

You will have to keep us posted on how this goes. We are considering home schooling with our son but not sure yet.

There are free homeschool curriculums through 12th grade, ladies. Good curriculums

Yes, I homeschool. I would say keep it simple and focus on the three R's (reading, 'riting and 'rithmetic) and reading lots of different books on a variety of subjects. And don't forget physical activity!
