Miss Moo's date was cancelled

The other farm could not accommodate Miss Moo this weekend so her date with the bull has been cancelled. Hoping in two weeks time it will work out. Such a pain to get animals bred!

We still haven't figured out how we are going to breed our female goats.

The challenges of farming....

Yep, it is called heat. Standing heat is what we want to get her bred and we could not tell that until we got Comet. It is when they stand to be mounted by another cow. Then usually it is 12-24 hour window to get her bred.

The other farmer suggested getting Miss Moo over to her farm the week before her heat and hopefully they will keep her for 1-2 cycles to make sure the bull gets the job done. Right now they have steers and they aren't letting the bull near the cows. The steers are suppose to be gone by next week. So we shall see.
