Dryer Sheet Alternatives

When my older girls were little I had to stop using dryer sheets because a couple of them broke out with rashes. I never liked the expense of liquid fabric softener so we've basically gone without. I have used a rag with vinegar on it to get rid of static cling.

This week I found an alternative I was excited to try. Wool dryer balls. I am trying them for the first time today and am hoping they eliminate static cling as well as reduce drying time since the wool will absorb excess water.

Do you have any dryer sheet remedies?

Neat! I've used vinegar in the wash because it will soften fabrics and take away the cling, but never tried it in the dryer. Love the idea of wool balls!

So far they do seem to be working well. We often have extra large loads and we haven't needed to turn the dryer back on for a second cycle.
