children and peanut butter

I know that most doctors advise to wait until first birthday. Some concerns may include choking and peanut allergy. I know that it's much safer to know earlier if your child has an allergy, but I didn't introduce peanut butter to my son until he turned 5 years old. I don't see any benefits eating peanuts and peanut butter in young age, and my son doesn't like it even now.

I don't remember at what age we introduced our girls to peanut butter but they've never liked it anyhow. Maybe its just a younger kid thing cause its so thick and whatnot
