4 months and eating?
My sons doctor told me to go ahead and try baby food. He said to try rice cereal for 4 days then if he does ok with it then to start stage 1 baby foods, except don't do the fruits. He said save the sweets for later. Now my son is 16.5lbs and 26 1/4inches long. I have been doing research and a lot of moms suggest waiting till 6months and so does the parenting books. I did the organic whole grain rice cereal and he did great, I actually got more than 3hours of sleep, i got 5hours of sleep!!!! I was beyond happy. I did make his baby food, and I will be making his baby food. I use all organic produce from a organic vegan store. I am not vegan, but I want the best for my son, and the produce there is fantastic , its a bit more expensive but its ok. Any ways, I made sweet potatoes for him using the babybreeza i was given (it steams and blends your baby's food, so cool) and thinned it out with his formula so it was a similar taste and thin to swallow. Now he did great with it. At first it was a little different of course for him, and he had that toungue reflux but after a few tries, and ate 2 ounces of sweet potatoes which was 2 spots of the ice cube try , in 3 feedings breakfast, lunch and dinner along with his normal bottles. He didn't spit anything he ate up. I was extremely proud. I and going to wait 3 days to see if he has any reaction or issues following the food before I feed him again. Should I continue to feed him baby food even though he is 4months old? I've heard it can cause allergies early on...... I am a first time mom please any advice is great.
It has been about a month since I have started her on solid food, I am now feeding her cereal for breakfast w/bottle, a veggie or fruit w/bottle for lunch and a veggie or fruit w/bottle for dinner. I introduced the foods slowly to make sure that she didn't have any reactions to it and she eats all the fruits now and three different types of veggies willingly. She is even starting to sleep thru the night most nights and if she does wake up, she goes right back to bed without a fight. If your son is reacting well to the solid food, I would continue to try to feed it to him.
