Anybody else have leftover ham? We aren't big turkey eaters around here, so we get bone in ham, eat on it until there's just meat right around the bone then make ham bone soup.
Throw in your ham bone with meat on it, a coarsely chopped onion (cut into fourths or sixths) and about 6-8 russet potatoes, chopped. Needs about 6 cups or so of water and let cook until potatoes are done. Mash up potatoes-it should be a creamy soup sort of consistency, but I always get too much water lol. You might want to add salt after you cook it, but I leave it out while cooking because ham itself is usually pretty salty.
