Probiotics while breastfeeding?

Has anyone heard it is not only safe, but beneficial for your baby to take probiotics while breastfeeding your baby?

"Breastfed babies who cry because they have colic could be soothed with probiotics, scientists believe.
The good bacteria found in yoghurt can be an effective treatment for infants fed exclusively on their mother’s milk.
But there is insufficient evidence to support using Lactobacillus reuteri to manage colic or prevent crying in formula-fed babies, the Australian study found. Scientists believe it could be linked to an immature immune system struggling with bacterial imbalances in the gut.
High levels of E. coli bacteria in particular could contribute to symptoms."

    Very interesting.
