First Birthday Party Planning
The is my first time planning a birthday party. We have quite a few guests arriving, not TOO many but still enough people, and I am a bit nervous. Everything is set, I just have to make the food the day before. We aren't having any games or prizes, being mostly older children (preteens and young teens) and adults are coming. I am just nervous. I want to be a good hostess, I suppose.
Here is what I have so far:
Cake ordered plus small one for Jonah (we are getting one and just adding our own cake topper--a Hot Wheels Semi Truck and candle).
Invites sent (waiting on rest of replies)
Camera is almost ready--I need to transfer pics and videos to CDs so I have space.
I did not want to go too much "all out" but I still wanted it to be memorable and nice. This is my first child (minus Jaina from marriage) and Jonah's first birthday. Not only that, we both stem from big families who all wanted to be a part of his celebration--they all love my kids, deeply. I also do not mind other family members attending.
How did you all celebrate your children's first birthday?
Jonah was almost born on the tenth. I had him at 11:05 pm. Lol
Grace shares a birthday with one of my nieces. It won't be long and she'll be celebrating number one.
Do you get a little sad that they are growing up too fast, too? I am sad because the months went by too quick but joyed because he is growing and learning.
I have NO idea what we are doing for Grace.
For his family:
hot roast beef sandwiches for the adults
Chicken fingers and French fries for the kids
Attempting a homemade cake (Wal-Mart is down the street as a back up) if the homemade attempt fails
For my family:
Pizza or Holiday leftover's because they cannot play well with other :)
I will be planning a second birthday party soon. It goes by so fast.
