My husband has been diabetic for about a year now, and it seems to me that the doctor is just experimenting on him. Rather than giving him insulin, she's given him MetForman, which has some nasty side effects. He's developed breathing problems, headaches, and his blood sugar hasn't gotten any better. I recently ordered 1/2 pound of bilberry leaf and have been making him tea everyday. I've tried bilberry myself, and all I can say is that it makes you feel better all over. I didn't know this at the time, but bilberry is used in Europe to treat diabetes and high blood pressure. After just a few cups, he's reported that his shortness of breath is gone and his blood sugar seems to be at a reasonable level. I'll be interested to see what his doctor says.
