Nursing

Hey guys! So I've noticed at night time Elianna has such a hard time staying awake to nurse. She'll drink for like ten minutes then fall asleep but then be up an hr later. How do I get her to eat longer so I can sleep a bit longer? Any suggestions?

Try waking her by moving around, rub her chin. Jiggle and walk with her. Breast milk is digested after an hour and a half from eating. I co sleep at times and nurse side lying to get an extra few hours of sleep.

Ok I will try that. We aren't ones for co sleeping so we are trying to avoid bringing her in our bed

I co-sleep, so he is usually latched most of the night so I can sleep. Side laying is a life saver. If you're too worried about co-sleeping, you can just keep wiggling her, that's what I had to do with my other two.

I tickle their feet or start undressing them to help them stay awake for longer and eat more. Wait to change diaper until you switch sides. I think that's all I do.

I use to remove some of her clothes to help keep my daughter awake while nursing. Just enough to help keep her awake.
