He Won't Sleep!

My son refuses to sleep. He went to bed around 8:30 pm and awoke a little after 10 pm. He has been awake since.

It is now 11:17 pm. He did his blood curdling scream and throw a monster fit. My hubby has to get up at 3:30 am so the tot and I are in the living room while he plays. He does not take late naps. I cut those out to see if it would help but the result is the same. I do not understand why he won't sleep. I have scoured the internet looking for solutions. We have tried everyone, even letting him fuss himself to sleep, only for him to awake 10 minutes afterward, each time.

I give up. I am out of options and have no clue as to what to do. He is almost 14 months old. I am hoping he grows out of this soon.

*Sigh.*

Tristen was about the same age when he did that. We just had to have a few very restless nights and let him cry everytime he woke up. He eventually got it and started sleeping again, only to go through the same thing right before he turned two. It's very frustrating.

I think the high pitched screaming is the toughest part. It is like he is trying to out-do Mariah Carey. -_- Lol

Oh man...Tristen is a screamer but it's like deafening loud! Those were rough, rough nights. I'm hopeful he doesn't go through it again but a part of me knows he will. Although since we cut naps out completely it has been better...but the no nap thing is brutal for me. Lol

I've tried that as well and even later. I've tried no naps after three and even after three.

Oh I'm sorry. When mine do that I keep the room dark and try to stay in their room or our room. Sometimes I stay in the rocking chair or lay on the floor depending on how tired I am.

He just wants to play or sleep with me and we are trying to break that.
