Breastfeeding and my period

Hubby forgot that I was no longer pregnant the first time we had sex after having Elianna which was 4 weeks ago. He didn't pull out so now I'm wondering if I should take a test just to check since I'm not sure when my period will come while I'm breastfeeding. I also heard breastfeeding can be a form of birth control if you're exclusively breastfeeding. But I have been so exhausted. So I'm not sure what to do. He's like "there's no way you're pregnant." But there is a possibility since he didn't pull out and it's very easy to get pregnant after you give birth c

Everybody is different. Personally, mine have been spaced with EBF. I have either been pregnant or nursing for the last 6 years and am just now getting my period back (minus a 6 month stint I was birth control and bled for 4 months of that.)

But anyway. I keep pregnancy tests in the house and test every month. i thought i was, and it ended up being PMS. There are ways to track your cervical fluid and your temp, but I can't get the hang of it, so I'm just going by other signs-food cravings and such. I always crave chocolate right before my period.

Oh, ok! So just to be safe should I go get some pregnancy tests? The exhaustion has been worse. And I just feel pregnant. And every other time he's just not pulled out I've gotten pregnant. Lol. That's why our babes are 16mos apart. The ob says we are very fertile!

lol we get ours off amazon, seem to be cheaper than the grocery store-and I don't have to deal with the looks of buying pregnancy tests with three kids in tow.

My doctor told me that while breastfeeding, you will not get your period, but still to use back up birth control. Breastfeeding can wear a mama out...trust me

Could it just be the breastfeeding making me so exhausted? I told hubby that I've been feeling pregnant. I have been pregnant twice and I just know my body! But maybe I'm wrong. Lol

Yes, I remembered I ovulated 4 weeks after birth...but you can't worry about it until you know for sure...

I went to my 6 week check up & hubby and I opted for Mirena. I go back April 13 to get it placed & they'll check to make sure I'm not pregnant. The dr said he doubts I am since I'm breastfeeding but I do have some tests and will take one in the morning to see. Obviously if I am pregnant then I won't be getting the IUD. But if I'm not then I will be:)
