Buying a House
So I keep trying to get it off my mind and relax... but we are moving in four short months. This will be the first house we ever buy. Even though I've seen my family do it, know the process, I am just stressing about this intermittently because sooooo much is going to be changing at the same time. I know I should consider myself lucky that we can even consider it, but I'm driving myself nuts between that and the military and all the baby stuff lately.
Back to the point.
So, ladies out there who have bought a house. How hard was the process? Was it worth it? Do I need to just calm the hell down? Did you worry like I am as the time drew near? Any tips?
<add any other rambling questions I may have missed here, lol>
My husband and I bought our home about 3 1/2 years ago.. and I cannot lie.. it was SMOOTH sailing.. like a really awesome process - it happened super fast too, way faster then most. We hunted for a straight weekend (but had scouted WHERE we wanted to be before hand... as well as our price point..) anyways, we hunted one weekend.. then the realtor let us have some master key to some houses in one neighborhood... on our way home from my Uncle's basketball game (he coaches) at like 1am.. we decided to swing by this one on our way home.. and LOVE! We instantly fell in love at 1am with our house haha!! The next day we met with the realtor, put a deposit down for something (raced THREE other couples in doing so that were wanting our house..) and scored it! I was nervous a bit after that.. because of being for REAL approved, etc... but we were good to go, just needless worry :) The process took less than TWO weeks.. we got our keys the day of my Birthday in 2010.. just 2 months before our Wedding.. ha! Now that is a story for you ;)
Just make sure that you don't purchase above you means and that the home is in a safe area where you feel safe. If you have kids knowing about the schools and how well they teach your kids is important. Any other questions pop in your head, just as me. Just be at peace, and being home owner is a great accomplishment.
