Need help!

As some of you know I have a 11 year old autistic child. He hurts himself when angry and today he bang he's head in the (wood/carpet) floor and caused a bruise in hes nose and some red dots in his forehead. Should I take him to a doctor to check him? he seems fine and says nothing hurts but can he have a concussion or something?

I'm not a doctor, so I can't answer your question. However, I have a little experience here. My second son, Benedict, did some things that seemed utterly painful sometimes. Maybe I should have realized that something was different about him, but I didn't. He didn't have any of the usual symptoms of autism (meaningless, repetitive motions, etc.). He just didn't talk. When he was about 2-1/2, my mom really pushed me to find some answers. I told the pediatrician about his lack of speech. She gave me a diagnosis of "expressive communication disorder" and recommended speech therapy. We tried that, but it was a waste. Then I found a holistic doctor. He didn't specialize in children, but I begged his secretary to make an appointment for me. He took one look at Benedict and said he suspected autism. He recommended testing and prescribed Essential Fatty Acids and Inositol.
The effect was amazing! Benedict began speaking in sentences immediately!
The doctor also gave us a diet sheet and told us to cut down on starchy foods, since they convert to sugar in the body. The biggest thing I noticed, though, was red food dye (red #40). Whenever he had that, he went nuts! I had to outlaw hotdogs. Besides all the junk in them, they were full of red food dye.
Benedict is a junior in high school now, and aside from his tics, he blends in with all the other kids. He has an IEP in school but is a straight-A student. He says he'd like to go to the culinary academy to become a chef.
I am sure that he wouldn't be where he is today without the supplements and dietary restrictions he had when little.

If he loses his appetite, seems extremely tired, eyes can't focus or pupils don't dialate when looking at a light... Then take him.

Thanks, I called the hospital they made me close one of his nostrils to check his breathing. He cannot breath in the side of the bruise so they told me to bring him to the ER. Fun fun :(

I hope he feels better soon.
